Highlighter – Ep3 – The Wild Detectives Bookstore and Bar – Andres De La Casa
On today’s Highlighter episode, I speak Andres De La Casa, the Director of The Wild Detectives Bookstore, Bar, and Venue. The establishment is the result of 10 years of friendship of two Spanish civil engineers, Javier García del Moral and Paco Vique. They always wished for a space that could mix two of their passions: books and booze. After a lot of enthusiastic talk over the years they were reckless enough to make that conversation actually happen and so The Wild Detectives opened its doors for the first time in 2014 and has since programmed over 300 literary/cultural events and has likely sold as many books as beers!
Experience new voices in Latin American fiction! The world renowned Hay Festival has partnered with The Wild Detectives Bookstore to bring some of the most interesting young voices of Latin American Literature to Dallas. This day of bilingual events features stars from the festival’s Bogotá39 selection of emerging Latin American writers – all under the age of 39. Join Us, Meet The Authors, and Celebrate! Saturday, September 8th 2018 at the Wild Detectives Bookstore, Bar, and Venue, from 3pm to 11pm.
